LLOYD PEST CONTROL
JAMIE OGLE
Lloyd Pest Control started protecting
Southern California from pests in 1931. The company
was founded by James A. Ogle Sr., better known as Al,
and began with him as the sole exterminator. Now after
over 77 years in business Lloyd Pest Control has more
than 200 radio-dispatched trucks, 200 licensed technicians,
supervisors and quality control staff. The company’s
reign has remained in the hands of the family, with
current President Jamie Ogle acting as the third generation
owner. Jamie Ogle is also the President of Lloyd Termite
Control, a company devoted to eliminating termites from
commercial and residential properties.
Al Ogle started his career in the pest control industry
in Los Angeles during the Depression. He had always
loved hunting, so pest management naturally became bug
hunting, which quickly turned into a passion for the
Sr. Ogle. In 1936, Al Ogle purchased The Lloyd Company
and changed the name to Lloyd Pest Control, in order
to make the company’s expertise more prominent.
He was President of Lloyd Pest Control for almost 40
years until he passed the helm to his son, Jim Ogle,
in 1975. For 25 years, the company was run by second-generation
owner, Jim Ogle, until 2000 when current President,
Jamie Ogle, took over the operations.
Jamie Ogle attributes the continued success of Lloyd
Pest Control to one thing, commitment. “We are
committed to always finding better ways to do our job.
And we still learn the needs of our customers by listening
to them,” says Ogle. With locations throughout
Southern California including Santa Ana, Anaheim and
San Diego, Lloyd Pest Control also has several selling
points that you will not find amongst their competitors.
In an effort to ensure the best possible service and
product to their customer, employees at Lloyd Pest Control
receive two months of classroom and field training.
Most other pest management companies bring in vendors
to provide training for employees, which can be biased
towards their company’s products. Lloyd Pest Control
also offers a continuing education program to keep employees
up-to-date on the latest trends and developments in
pest management.
Another element that makes Lloyd Pest Control stand
out from the competition is that they employ two full-time
scientists, a biologist and an entomologist. “Our
scientists design the company training programs and
continuing education programs that help to keep our
employees current and able to provide the best pest
solutions and service to our customers,” said
Ogle.
A strong contributor to the community, Lloyd Pest Control
has won the Better Business Bureau Torch Award in San
Diego and are members of the organizations prestigious
Golden Circle. Some of their community involvement includes
work with the Stevens Cancer Center, the Peninsula YMCA
and the Inventors Showcase, a science fair for young
inventors from San Diego schools.
